Makai's 2 year stats

Makai had his 2 year check-up on Friday. He must remember all the times he's been to the Dr's office because he wasn't happy about being taken back, measured, weighed, etc. He enjoyed playing with the Dr's otoscope and let the Dr listen to his heart and lungs and look in his ears and nose. That was where he stopped cooperating. He didn't want to open his mouth and he definitely didn't want the 2 shots he got. He would have normally only gotten one, but since we're having a baby in February, we felt it best to get him a flu shot as well. At least he's not alone in this since I'll be getting mine this week as well.

We were concerned that Makai was a bit on the small side, especially compared to other boys his age and Mason when he was 2. Our worries were unfounded though because apparently he hit a growth spurt in the last 6 months. He weighed in at 26 lbs, and was 33 5/8 inches long. This is much better compared to 6 months ago where he weighed 21 lbs 1 oz and was only 31 inches. So he jumped from the less than 3 percentile on weight to the 25th, and from the 12th percentile on height to the 25th. We were definitely impressed!
