Camping with Daddy!

The first full week of June, Thad took Mason and Makai on a scouting high adventure for our stake. This was not the original plan but 4 days with all 4 kids by myself might have resulted in some major disasters. So instead of having to come home early, Thad decided to take the boys with him. Aside from the ever present rain, they had a blast!! Makai did really well, which we were very concerned with how he would do with his mischieviousness in the outdoor world. Luckily Thad took the camera with him so I could see what the boys did!

Makai enjoying some cantaloupe. Thad said he did very good at keeping his hat on almost the entire time. Of course, that might be due to Thad telling him the mosquitoes would bite his head if he didn't keep his hat on! LOL!

They were dirty and tired when they got home, but I'm glad they had fun and didn't let the rain get them down too much. They even spent some time at the hot springs pool where they were at. After this trip, I was also informed by Thad that Mason is changing his view of his parents . He is growing up to see that maybe it's not so cool to hang out with your parents anymore, which saddens me. There were some activites like hiking with dad that Mason declined to go on unless the older boys were going to. It's going to be a rough road ahead, allowing him to grow up.
And don't worry us girls had plenty of fun while the boys were away! We partied (well Malia did at her friend Kaiya's birthday party), and saw the movie UP, which is very cute! We also shopped (for groceries) but it was still fun, made popcorn and watched movies together.
