Basketball

Well, it's that time of year when Mason is on the court dribbling the ball and shooting to make baskets. He is playing Y-ball or YMCA sponsored basketball again this year. This has been a bit of a frustrating year for me as he really hasn't been accepted by his team. Which means he doesn't get passed to even if he's wide open and shouting at them. He rarely touches the ball in a game and in the last 4 games has never had the chance to shoot a basket. I get the feeling that if he didn't show up to games or practices he wouldn't be missed. So much for teaching the YMCA values of sportsmanship and teamwork! Mason stays positive and tells us he's having fun, which is a good thing, since running up and down a basketball court doing nothing doesn't really look like a lot of fun! He has 2 games left this season and then we'll work with him here at home to get his skills honed for next year. Hopefully then he'll be able to prove himself an asset to the team!
