Labor Day fun!

We usually end up working through Labor Day and never get to enjoy what seems like the end of summer. This year we decided we would take some time off and enjoy the world Heavenly Father created for us. We went camping with my family at Sugar Loaf by Cascade Reservoir.

We enjoyed spending a lot of time on the lake and feeling the breeze on our face as we sped around the lake and watched the ducks diving for fish. The kids loved going on the tube, although they are still pretty scared of all that water surrounding them. Thad even enjoyed a chance to waterski although it was cut short by the choppiness of the water. Overall it was a wonderful trip and are looking forward to making it an annual excursion to celebrate the end of summer.

It was a lot of fun although there were daily reminders of the forest fires burning around us. Idaho has had the most wildfires this year and they are still burning. It just so happened a fire was sparked by Tamarack resort not too far from where we were staying so we saw smoke billowing from the mountain side. We also couldn't have any campfires of our own, so we had to find another way to make smores...we cooked the marshmallows over the propane camping stove.

My favorite pictures are makai asleep in the tent and in thad's arms in the boat. And then malia peeking through the door, she's so pretty!
